The summer break has started and the planning for the next race is already underway. Number three team Red Bull and recently elevated McLaren are making aggressive tyre choices for the Belgian GP.
Both the teams have chosen to take nine sets of Ultrasoft for each of their cars. Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen of Red Bull racing have opted for a smallest number of soft tyres, i.e. one set apiece and three sets of the Supersoft tyres. McLaren’s Stoffel Vandoorne has also opted for a similar tyre choice.
Alonso has opted to get an extra set of soft tyres compared to fellow driver Vandoorne.
Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes have ordered six sets of Ultrasoft with Hamilton taking four sets of soft tyres.
Ferrari has chosen the same combination but added an additional set of the softest compound they could get.
