No war of words with Mercedes –Ferrari

Amidst the controversy hounding both teams in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Ferrari emphasized it will not go into a war of words with rival Mercedes.

“We will do an analysis of the race, but we will not complain because it is not our style,” stated Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene.

It can be recalled that Ferrari and Mercedes drivers figured in collision at Baku. First was the opening lap where Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen came to blows, the other being Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel bumping into each other behind the safety car.

Arrivabene furthered, “But from what happened between Bottas and Raikkonen, and then afterwards the episode of Vettel [with Hamilton], are we in F1 or the Colosseum? If we are at the Colosseum then just say – and we can do a famous technical directive and we can all follow that.”

Ferrari affirmed it is focused on more important things than arguing about what happened. This comes at the heels of Mercedes’ management and drivers’ strong words against the team.

“We fought hard and in Austria we will try again more determined than before – because we talk a little and work a lot.”
